宮崎県について
Miyazaki Prefecture is a prefecture of Japan located on the island of Kyushu. It borders Oita Prefecture to the north, Kumamoto Prefecture to the northwest, and Kagoshima Prefecture to the southwest.
宮崎県は日本の九州地方に位置している県です。北に大分県と、北西に熊本県と、南西に鹿児島県と隣接しています。
Borderは他動詞で「～に接する、～に隣接する」という意味になります。
Miyazaki, capital of Miyazaki Prefecture, is located on the southeastern coast of Kyushu. With one of the warmest climates on the main islands of Japan, many resorts, beaches and sports facilities can be found. It used to be the top honeymoon spot and a popular destination with domestic travelers until the 1960s.

Miyazaki prefecture has seen falling numbers of visitors from the 1980s, but has recently made a comeback due to the efforts of former comedian Higashikokubaru Hideo, who served as the governor from 2007 to 2011.
宮崎県は1980年代以降観光客数が減少していましたが、最近では2007年から2011年の間に県知事を務めたお笑い芸人出身の東国原英夫氏による努力で息を吹き返していきています。

宮崎県の歴史について
It is said that people started to live in Miyazaki at the end of the Middle Paleolithic Era. Its traces are found from numerous ancient ruins.
宮城県に人々が住み始めたのは中期旧石器時代の終わりだと言われています。その証拠として数多くの古代遺跡が存在しています。
Middle Paleolithic Eraは「中期旧石器時代」という意味になります。Palaeolithic Eraで「旧石器時代」という意味になります。
Traceは「手がかり、証拠」という意味になります。
ancient ruinsは「古代遺跡」という意味になります。
Miyazaki is also associated with the first emperor of Japan, Jimmu. The emperor is supposed to have lived in the 7th century BCE and the legendary site of his palace was placed in modern-day Miyazaki. Also, the Kibana-jinja Shrine is said to have welcomed the goddess Ko-no-hana.
宮崎は最初の天皇である神武天皇にゆかりのある地でもあります。神武天皇は紀元前7世紀に居住されたと言われ、伝説の居住地は今の宮崎市でした。さらに木花神社はコノハナノサクヤビメを迎えたと言われています。

Miyazaki was divided among several clans during the Edo Period including the powerful Shimazu clan based in Kagoshima to the south, and the Nobeoka clan to the north.
江戸時代、宮崎県は南の鹿児島に拠点を置く島津氏や北の延岡氏など、数多くの一族によって分かれていました。
Miyazaki Prefecture was first created in 1873 when Mimitsu Prefecture was merged with parts of Miyakonojo Prefecture. But the first Miyazaki Prefecture emerged only in 1876 when it was merged into Kagoshima Prefecture.
宮崎県は最初、美々津県が都城県と合併するかたちで1873年に誕生しました。しかし、最初の宮崎県は1876までしか存続せず、その時に鹿児島県に合併されました。

Under public pressure and demands in the prefectural assembly of Kagoshima, Miyazaki finally became independent from Kagoshima in 1883.
世論の圧力と鹿児島県議会の要請により、1883年に宮城県はついに鹿児島県から独立しました。

In Showa period, Hakko Ichiu pillar was constructed as a commemorative project for the 2,600th anniversary of the mythical founding of Japan. It is now part of the Heiwadai-koen Peace Park.
昭和に入ると、皇紀二千六百年記念事業として八紘基柱（平和の塔）が建設されました。現在ではその柱は平和公園の一部となっています。
commemorative projectで「記念事業」という意味になります。
前置詞であるforは目的や理由などの意味もあります。
宮崎県の気候について
The sunshine duration and precipitation in Miyazaki prefecture is way up on the high level in Japan. Miyazaki prefecture has a mild climate. But snow cover is observed in mountain ranges. There is a natural ski resort located at the southernmost tip of Japan.
宮崎県の日照時間・降水量ともに全国で上位に位置しています。宮崎は暖かい気候にあります。しかし、山岳地帯では雪が観測されます。国内最南端の天然スキー場が存在します。
sunshine durationで「日照時間」という意味になります。
Precipitationで「降水量」という意味になります。

「山岳地帯」はmountain district, mountain rangeと表します。
「最南端」はsouthernmost、「最北端」はnorthernmost、「最東端」はeastmost、「最西端」はwesternmostになります。
宮崎県のグルメについて
There are a number of delicious foods in Miyazaki Prefecture. Especially, Miyazaki-gyu is one of the most famous beef in Japan. Miyazaki Beef is a name only given to cows raised in Miyazaki which meet strict quality standards. The meat from these cows is graded on a scale from C1 up to A5 which is the highest rank.
宮城県には数多くの美味しい食べ物があります。特に宮崎牛は国内でとても有名な牛肉です。宮崎牛は厳格な品質基準を満たした牛にのみ与えられる名前です。それらの牛によるお肉はC1から最高ランクであるA5まで等級付けされます。
Gradeは「等級付けする、格付けする」という意味になります。
宮崎県の観光地について
Takachiho is a town in northern Miyazaki Prefecture that is steeped in Japanese mythology. Legend has it that this is where the gods descended and made land on the top of Takachiho-yama.
高千穂は宮崎県北部にある、日本神話へと誘う町です。伝説によると、ここで神は降りてきて、高千穂山の頂上に島を造ったとのことです。
steep in～で「～に没頭させる、夢中にさせる」という意味になります。
Udo Jingu is a colorful shrine set on a cliff overlooking the ocean. You would fulfill a luck in your love life, if you buy a few undama stones and try to throw them at a target in the rocks below the shrine.
鵜戸神宮は大洋を見渡せる崖の上にある色鮮やかな神社です。少しの運玉を買って、それを神社の下にある岩をターゲットなげると、恋愛運が成就するでしょう。
luck in love lifeで「恋愛運」という意味になります。「商売繫盛」はthriving (prosperous) businessやrush of business、「健康運」はluck in healthになります。
